REAL BRIDES | Ashley & Brandon: A Timeless Lace Romance in Oklahoma City

When Ashley first walked through the doors of Link’s Bridal, she knew exactly what she didn’t want — anything trendy, anything she’d look back on in ten years and cringe. What she wanted was a gown that felt like her: classic, romantic, and built to last in photographs forever.

What she found was so much more than a dress. She found the one.

The Search

Ashley came in on a quiet Tuesday morning with her mother and her best friend, armed with a Pinterest board full of lace and a firm “no” to anything strapless. Our stylist, Megan, listened carefully before pulling five gowns — only two of which were anywhere near Ashley’s original vision.

“I always say, let the dress surprise you,” Megan told us. “Ashley was so sure about what she wanted, and I respected that completely. But I also knew there was one gown in the back that I just had a feeling about.”

That gown was a cathedral-length A-line with hand-appliquéd Chantilly lace, a sweetheart neckline, and a covered-button closure running the full length of the back. The moment Ashley stepped onto the pedestal, the room went quiet.

Her mother cried first.

The Details

Ashley’s gown was fitted over three appointments with our alterations team, led by Maria, who has been with Link’s Bridal for over fourteen years. The hem was taken up half an inch, the bustle was customized to create a fuller silhouette for the reception, and the sleeves — a last-minute addition Ashley had been on the fence about — were added in sheer illusion lace and became her favorite part of the entire look.

“I never thought I’d be a sleeve person,” Ashley laughed. “Maria just held up this little swatch of lace next to my shoulder and I immediately started crying. That was my answer.”

The Day

Ashley and Brandon were married on a warm September evening at a vineyard outside Oklahoma City. The golden-hour photos speak for themselves: Ashley radiant, Brandon visibly overwhelmed, and a lace train that stretched across the aisle like something from a film.

When we asked Ashley what she’d tell a bride who’s just starting her search, she didn’t hesitate.

“Trust the people at Link’s Bridal. Come in with your ideas, but stay open. They found me a dress I didn’t know I was looking for — and it was perfect.”
